Take part in the consultation for RBK's revised Housing Allocation Scheme
Kingston Council would like to hear feedback from residents, community groups and other stakeholders of the borough and specifically housing applicants on the proposed changes to the Housing Allocations Scheme.
Feedback can be given via an online survey
This survey is hosted by our partner organisation Campbell Tickell Ltd working on behalf of Kingston Council to gain residents', stakeholders' and community groups' views on the proposed changes to the Housing Allocations Scheme.
The survey is anonymous, and the names or details of any individuals will not be identified and will not be shared. We are also consulting with councillors, social landlords in the borough, key agencies and all relevant sections of the council.
This consultation and survey, which opened on 24 July 2023 will close on 17 September 2023.
The new Allocations Scheme seeks to:
- set out clearly how we allocate and let social housing in the borough
- ensure decisions in regards to an application for housing are made fairly with a clear reason for why we have made the decision
- make the document easier to navigate and understand
- simplify eligibility, qualification and making it clearer about those we cannot house
- improve the way we give an application a priority; this is especially important given the demand for housing and the small number of properties that are available to let each year
- ensure compliance with recent legislation and good practice

Following the consultation we will finalise the Housing Allocations Scheme and it will be presented to the council for approval in November 2023.
Your views are important to us, and we would urge you to complete the survey in order to help us introduce a Housing Allocations Scheme which sets out clearly how we allocate and let the limited supply of social housing available in the borough.
