During February 2021 we celebrated LGBTQ+ History Month by creating a new podcast exploring the experiences of 2 members of our community who came out decades apart.

In this episode Stephen (Healthwatch Kingston's Chief Executive Officer) and Lydia (Chair of the Kingston & Richmond's Youth Council) compare their experiences of being part of the LGBTQ+ community from the 80s' through to present day, with lots of relevant advice for young people today.

If you are part of the LGBTQ+ community, you are questioning your sexuality and/or gender you can find support or join a group of like-minded young people on this page. This podcast is also for you if you want to support a friend or a student who is part of the community, if you want to know what it's like to be LGBTQ+ or if you want to know how to support LGBTQ+ rights.

Grants available to help shape and develop an anti-racist health and care system

There are small grants available to help shape and develop an anti-racist health and care system in South West London. ​Kingston Race and Equalities Council (KREC), in partnership with South West London (SWL) health and care partners is working to develop anti-racist approaches to health and care. This programme is an opportunity to ensure that the voices of minoritised communities are heard and that their experiences inform real change.
