Kingston All Ages Learning Disability Partnership Board - End of Year Report 2021 - 2022
The Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames All Ages Learning Disability Partnership Board would like thank everyone for their ongoing commitment to making Kingston a more inclusive place for people with a learning disability, their families and carers.
We recognise the challenges faced by all during another difficult year.
Inclusion, health and wellbeing should always be at the heart of our work.
We hope that the benefits of collaboration will continue to assist each one of us in achieving more for people with a learning disability in the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames.
Healthwatch Kingston independently co-chairs and organises the All Ages Learning Disability Partnership Board meetings with people living with a learning disability.
The meetings give lots of time for people with learning disabilities to talk about what is important to them.
The Involve team from Kingston Council help us with the meetings.
We have guest speakers at the meetings, for example Seeability, and Students from Orchard Hill College and Bedelsford school.
In 2021 Healthwatch Kingston attended lots of events for people with learning disabilities. We went to the Kingston Mencap “Let’s Talk” Zoom meetings, to ask people about how they found getting a Covid vaccines, dental services, and other experiences of health and social care services.
What does the All Ages Learning Disability Partnership Board want to happen?
- We want good information and support to make choices and get the right services.
- We want information to be available to everyone. This includes people who don’t go online or use technology.
- We want information to be available in a format that supports everyone.
- We want it to be easier for organisations to signpost and promote each other's services and events.
- We want people with learning disabilities to be supported.
- We want people with learning disabilities to have good access to health and social care.
- We want mental health services that work for people with learning disabilities.
- We want to amplify the voices of people with learning disabilities in our work.
